Birmingham City Council launched last week this years Local Hearts Awards, nominations are now open deadline 20th Spetmeber. The Local Hearts Awards are part of a wide range of activties an events that will take place as part of local democracy week between the 11th & 22nd October.
I am busy planning a couple of activties and workshops that will take place here in Handsworth. One will be with Nick Booth from Podnosh and will focus on encouarging residents to use social media as a tool to voice their veiws and hav a say in thier neighbourhood. The second will be with Multistory and part of the community journlist project looking at photography and examples of community activisim in Handsworth. More information will be posted here soon!
