I have been working hard in the last two weeks gathering stories from the community and local services for a new Community Magazine for Handsworth. Hopefully the first edition will be out in the next two weeks.?
The vision is to create a local magazine where local people can become community journalists & photographers. It will provide a great opportunity to share stories and information across the neighbourhood.

I found this old magazine from 1896 and wondered if Handsworth had one since then? The Handsworth Local society magazine was mainly aimed at the upper class in the area which is interesting how the area has changed with it now classed as a priority neighbourhood being one of Birmingham’s most deprived neighbourhoods.
